Internet of Things Set to Boom in The Next 12 MonthsNov 2016 Business & CommercialDesign & Manufacturing
The Tiller Design team attended the Everything IoT Conference at the Sydney Australian Technology Park. Sydney product designers and developers along with technology innovators gathered to discuss and debate what the future holds for the IoT. The key take out from the global summit was to get on board or get left behind.
Thankfully at Tiller Design we have been ahead of the curve on this one with multiple IoT projects already in the market including the ingenious building monitoring system SAMBA and the HomeBoy home security system.
IoT is set to hit full speed over the next 12 months as hardware and networks become more established. With several estimates predicting 50 billion connected devices by 2020, all areas of life will soon be contributing to the big data revolution. Global issues in focus include food and water security through agtech developments.
What many don’t realise is just how accessible IoT is for individual start-ups right through to large corporates. The success factor comes down to the integration of technologies into useful, useable and commercially viable products aligned with a commercialisation strategy to get your idea to market - which is why it is recommended you work with prototype experts and an experienced product design team.
