Quality
All Tiller Design projects follow our “Quality Essentials” process built from the QMS used by our partner company Tiller Scientific + Medical. It provides critical control points for all projects.
This process ensure that projects which do not need strict regulatory control still receive the benefits of professional and sound project management, quality assurance and professional reviews. These essential tasks ensure client’s needs are met, projects are successful and products engage the consumer.
For projects that require higher degrees of regulatory compliance please visit Tiller Scientific+Medical Pty Ltd, our specialist product design consultancy for these markets.

New tool to aid sustainable product design
Tiller Design
To ensure even greater control and faster turnaround in the design process, Tiller Design, Tiller Scientific+Medical and Tiller Manufacturing have invested in new prototyping equipment.
Transforming concepts into products overnight, the BFB3000 is a 3D rapid prototype unit that outputs models in either environmentally friendly biodegradable PLA or various grades of ABS plastics.
“Our investment in the BFB3000 is paying dividends across each of our businesses. It not only supports our philosophies on precision and diligence in design, it ensures we have greater control of the development process and can own all liability and responsibility associated with the job. The end result? An even quicker and better job for our clients.” – Robert Tiller

Broadband Better
Tiller Design
Industrial design consultancy Tiller Design was commissioned by Australian internet provider iiNet to put body to its latest iteration in broadband.
While being billed as BoB’s little brother – BoB Lite™ brings modernity to a tried and trusted technology without sacrificing the offering, and making it more affordable for users.
“BoB Lite™ is a good example of how Tiller Design works with clients to create meaningful products and memorable experiences that give lasting value to businesses and their customers.” – Robert Tiller.
Working with iiNet’s internal R&D team at iiNet Labs, the Tiller Design team developed BoB Lite™ in just 4 months, from idea to product availability.

Bigger Better Broadband
Tiller Design
The quality assurance and systems that back Tiller Design and Tiller Scientific + Medical have proved invaluable for iiNet. Fast on the heels of BoB Lite™ comes BoB2 (BoB’s big brother if you will).
Meeting the needs of a different segment and more advanced than previous iterations, BoB2 is a new all-in-one internet and phone solution, to be made available for customers by April.
Working again with iiNet Labs, the Tiller Design team employed considerable plastics engineering and design skills to give a fresh compelling feel and intuitive approach to complex electronics; ensuring the final product delivers an exceptional user experience.
BoB2 is designed to capitalise on the National Broadband Network. It combines the winning features of BoB, with integrated and detachable phone, built-in answering machine, improved VOIP connectivity, video streaming and is fetchtv compatible.

Booked as World’s Best
Tiller Design
Two works’ by Tiller Design are show cased in latest bible on product design & development: 1000 Product Designs. With Otto, the iconic award winning coffee maker, being featured on the cover.
The other product featured is the innovative, patented Mine Site so successful it is the industry benchmark other design companies are trying to replicate.
“It is fantastic that 100% of our submissions were accepted, especially when you think that the book showcased only 1000 of the world’s leading designs from the past few years. Our ability to apply a proven, rigorous quality management system to a dynamic design process that produces patent ready products is proving to be a hit all over the world.” – Robert Tiller.
1000 Product Designs – Form, Function, and Technology from Around the World (its full title), by Eric Chan, published by Rockport, showcases the world’s coolest products designed in the last few years. It retails on Amazon for about $40.
