Previously, till payment methods slowed retailers down and were an interruption to a seamless customer experience. They left too much room for human error and security was minimal. We considered a new approach that allowed for high security without losing functionality.
Working closely with the Till Payments team across design and production support, we developed two products that simplify the acceptance of up to 300 payment instruments and provide real-time payment monitoring. The physical movement of cash from both devices is facilitated by a single, removable, secure and connected case that contains notes and coins already counted and ready for deposit.
Both the Till Mobi and Till Pro systems allow for streamlined accounting processes, increased security around cash handling, greater accuracy and an enjoyable and straightforward purchase process for merchants and customers. The Good Design Awards jury commented, “The handling of multiple cash and payment systems integrated into a single product is very innovative. Use of the briefcase system is great; improving cash handling safety and confidence. The judges found the UX simple and intuitive.”
